Description:
The \u201cAdaptInGR\u201d program aims to strengthen the implementation of the National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy for Greece, addressing the following specific objectives: (a) systematizing and improving short- and long-term climate change adaptation; (b) the promotion of adaptation actions and policies in all sectors, in particular the most vulnerable; (c) the establishment of a monitoring mechanism for the implementation of the acquis communautaire, evaluation and revision s policies and adaptation actions, and (d) enhancing the adaptability of Greek society through awareness raising and dissemination at national, multiregional and polytope level. At the national level for all 13 Regions, LIFE-IP will monitor and evaluate adaptation actions and policies and provide recommendations to the National Climate Change Adaptation Committee for the implementation of the national strategy. In all 13 regions, LIFE-IP will work with stakeholders in the private and public sector and social actors to raise awareness of climate change adaptation measures and the options available to finance them, to develop guidelines and to disseminate knowledge about good adaptation practice. In addition, the project includes case studies and pilot projects in 3 Regions (Sterea Ellada, Western Greece and the Ionian Islands) and 5 municipalities (Katerini, Komotini, Larissa, Agioi Anargyroi-Kamatero, Rhodes) throughout Greece to cover the most immediate threats, vulnerabilities and response to adaptation needs in the National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy.<\/p>\r\n
